Hampton,
Va. – The Hampton University
Office of Athletic Academic Support
unveiled its newly renovated
Student-Athlete Professional Development
Center today with a ribbon cutting
ceremony that took place as part of the
university’s High School Day.
“This new
Student-Athlete Professional Development
Center gives our student-athletes a
conducive learning environment that will
allow them to succeed academically,
while also preparing them to enter the
professional world,” added Hampton’s
Assistant Director of Athletics for
Student Services and Senior Woman
Administrator Tianna Scott. “This would
not have been possible without the
support and resources provided by our
visionary president Dr. William R.
Harvey.”
In
addition to the 18 brand new Dell
computers, the Student-Athlete
Professional Development Center will
also assist student-athletes in areas
such as class advisement, tutoring,
interviewing skills, resume writing and
career development. Various seminars
will also be offered throughout the
academic year, as well as information
regarding scholarships, internships and
graduate assistantships.
