Taylor’s Team Riding Four-Game Winning Streak

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – – Junior guard Ryan Scott (Reston, Va.) and head women’s basketball coach Vanessa Taylor have been named CIAA Men’s Basketball Player and Women’s Basketball Coach of the Week.

Scott averaged 22.5 points, shooting a blistering 66.7% from the field in two games including 72.7% from three point range. He scored a career high 29 points in a thrilling win over Mars Hill College.

This is Taylor’s second Coach of the Week honors during the young 2007-08 season. She guided her team to a 52-47 upset over Elizabeth City State University, her first win over the Vikings at the R.L. Vaughan Center since she left ECSU in 2001.

Scott and the rest of the men’s team will be back in action on December 11, when they host the Bears of Shaw University at 7:30 p.m.  Taylor’s team will return to action this Sunday, December 9, as they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on Winthrop University. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
