Lawrenceville, VA -- The Tigers of
Saint Paul's College (0-1 CIAA, 0-1
Overall) open up their 2007-2008 basketball
season with a home competition against the
Falcons of Saint Augustine's College (1-0
CIAA, 1-0 Overall) . The Falcons, also
their first game, would make out with a
flying victory as they defeat the Tigers,
75-63.
The Falcons
attack was lead by freshman Hayward Fain
(6'4", Forward, Akron, OH) whom posted 16
points on 6 of 13 field goals, with 7
rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals. In their
winning efforts, teammates Justin Dickens(10
points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal)
and James Scott (10 points, 1 assist, 2
steals) both scored in double figures. The
Falcons grabbed 24 offensive rebounds out
of their 42 total rebounds. SAC improves to
1 win with no losses as they look towards
their next contest against the Shaw
University Bears on November 27 in Raleigh,
NC.
The Tigers
fought hard against the strikes of the
Falcons, but could not hold them off.
Adrian Moffatt (6'4", Guard, Newport News,
VA) attempted 11 shots from the
field, converting on 7 them earning 22
points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist towards the
SPC effort. Jack Brown, preseason all
conference selection, contributed with 17
points, 11 rebounds,5 steals and 2
assists for his first double double of the
season. The Tigers look to improve their
record in their next game when they travel
to Charlotte, NC to take on the Catawba
College. Game time is slated for 5:00p.m.
on December 8, 2007.
