NCCU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TO HOLD GOLF TOURNAMENT Reah Nicholson 06/01/10
DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women’s basketball program will hold a fundraising golf tournament on Friday, June 11, 2010 at The Tradition Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C., to assist the program with its fundraising efforts for summer school scholarships and recruiting. Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start of 1:30 p.m.

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - Fayetteville State shot a final round 318 to finish with an 87-over-par 951 at the 24th PGA Minority Collegiate Championships on Sunday. The Broncos finished in fourth place, six shots behind Lincoln (MO). Morehouse won the event, shooting a 42-over-par 906 while Virginia State finished second with a 62-over-par 926.

Grambling, LA---Grambling State’s men’s golfer Jonathan Coleman made history today as he became not only the first golfer in school history but the first golfer in Northeast Louisiana to receive an automatic qualifier bid into the NCAA Regional Tournament.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Devin Cherry fired a round of 68 as he secured individual medalist honors en route to leading the Winston-Salem State University men’s golf team to a team total of 317 and a fourth place finish at the HBCU Golf Invitational held at Browns Mill Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga. on Sunday.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jerrell Fields’ three-day total of 239 led the Winston-Salem State University men’s golf team to an eighth-place finish at the Bethune-Cookman University fall golf invitational as Fields’ 27th-place individual finish paced the Rams who closed out play with a three-day total of 1,001.
