Grambling, LA---The Grambling State Lady Tiger’s soccer team hit the field for preseason camp earlier this week as they began their quest to defend their Southwestern Athletic Conference western division championship.

After playing a player down most of last season the Lady Tigers will welcome some added depth, however, it’s the overall physical condition of the team that’s of utmost concern for, fourth year head coach, Tamura Crowley.

“So far we are not in shape. With the size of the field we play on and the time of the day we play in the heat…fitness is probably the biggest thing we have to work on,” said Crowley. “I do have some freshmen that have stepped up and will make an immediate impact on the team. So I definitely excited and ready to get to playing.”

The Lady Tigers will be led by forwards Ashley Baker (5-5, Jr, El Paso, TX) and Rachele Dobbins (5-6, So., Little Rock, AR) and goalie keeper Cherie Silas (5-9, Sr, Rancho Cucamonga, CA).

The Lady Tigers will open their season August 21st when they hit the road and travel to Northwestern State.
