Virginia Beach, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2007 Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, recognizing 536 student-athletes from the conference’s 11 member institutions who achieved academic success during the 2006-07 academic school year. The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better that compete in MEAC sponsored sports.  Sixty-two athletes from Hampton University (33 women, 29 men) were among those recognized.

“It is always a pleasure to recognize and commend the student-athletes with a 3.0 or better grade point average,” said Commissioner Dennis Thomas. “These student-athletes are what the educational process is all about, succeeding academically and athletically. In addition to the student-athletes I would like to congratulate their coaches, their institutions, and their parents for contributing to their collegiate success.”
