Jackson, Miss. --- Four scattered errors including a huge two out
bobble by Mississippi Valley State first baseman Sean Bard set the
tone for the Delta Devils 10-0 loss to the Panthers of Prairie View
A&M in game three of the 2007 Southwestern Athletic Conference
baseball tournament.

Mississippi Valley’s starting pitcher Rudy Casias had allowed only one
run through the first one and two-thirds innings, when Bard bobbled a
throw from third baseman Gregg Dees allowing the Panthers Myrio
Richard to reach base and thus extend the inning. After which point,
the Panthers went on to add four unearned runs and hold a 5-0 lead
after the second inning.

The Delta Devils unable to muster any offense, continued to struggle
in the field and the Panthers used a 4 run fourth inning to push their
lead to 9-0 before picking up another run to clinch the victory.

Valley (19-35) will advance in the double elimination tournament to
face divisional foe Jackson State at noon tomorrow. The Tigers
defeated the Golden Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-2 in game two of
the tournament.
