SC State’s Terry Receives State Farm Scholarship at Golf Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA – South Carolina State freshman golfer Marina Terry was one of ten (10) players participating in the 24th PGA National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship presented $1,000 scholarships by State Farm Insurance Thursday during the tournament’s Expo and Welcome Banquet at the PGA Education Center.

Terry, a Gastonia, North Carolina native, is a nuclear engineering major with a 4.00 grade point average (GPA). In addition to playing golf for SC State, Terry is a member of the Lady Bulldog soccer team. She was redshirted as a freshman but is scheduled to participate in soccer next season.

Benedict’s Sarita Sharp was also a recipient of one of the scholarships.

The first-round of the 54-hole tournament gets underway Friday at the PGA Golf Club’s Ryder Course.
