Clark Atlanta Athletics Partners with Fellowship of Christian Athletes to Offer Youth Football and Basketball Camps Danielle Wright 05/28/10 ATLANTA (May 28, 2010) – Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Department of Athletics and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) recently announced they have partnered to offer summer football and basketball camps at CAU for local youth. The football camp, for middle school aged boys, will be held June 1-4 at Panther Stadium. CAU and the FCA will then hold a team basketball camp June 21-25 at Vivian W. Henderson Gymnasium. Middle school age male teams and their coaches are invited to participate. The camps are two of several sports camps being offered nationwide through FCA’s Unleash the Power: Strengthen Your Core summer camps. In four days, campers will learn the fundamentals of each sport and will be challenged to develop spiritual values on and off the field. The camp theme Core Strength will develop the FCA Core Values – Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence. Each day has a theme aimed at cultivating the aforementioned values: Integrity Unleashed…Live without Gaps; Serving Unleashed…Do the Unthinkable; Teamwork Unleashed…Die to Self; and Excellence Unleashed…Hold Nothing Back. The 2010 summer season marks the 54th year that FCA has sponsored camps. The first camp was held in 1956 in Estes Park, Colorado; the camps now reach athletes and coaches throughout America and the world. |
