Lady Tigers Squeeze Past Jackson State in Overtime Victory Cori L. Hicks 01/21/12 Jackson, MS--- The Grambling State University Lady Tigers’ Basketball Team clawed their way to a 59-55 overtime victory over the Jackson State University Lady Tigers. The score was tied 22-22 at halftime with Cierra Ceazer pacing the Lady Tigers’ offense. Jackson State was led by Rachel Jones (8 points). Going into the final stretch the JSU Lady Tigers pulled within two and scored a jumper at the buzzer to tie the score at 49 and force an overtime period. Leading the Lady Tigers in scoring was Markisha Patterson with 11 points and five rebounds. Ceazer tallied nine points, three rebounds and one assist. Alexis Andrews and Savannah Carter both knocked down seven points. Andrews also had six rebounds and two assists. Carter added five rebounds and two assists. Wymeka Randle led the team with 10 rebounds. Leading for Jackson State was Kiana McCarty with 15 points, 13 rebounds and one assist. The Grambling State Lady Tigers will be in action again on January 28 when they travel to Pine Bluff, Arkansas to take on the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
